" I love painting vessels and still life vanitas. Inspired by Italian artist, Morandi and his quiet, contemplative still life paintings, I produce calm, monochromatic images. My work space: ‘Studio 9’ is in our home, a 130 year old sandstone cottage in Sydney. It is filled with a beautiful collection of items + curios, the reference point for my paintings. They all have their own personalities and quirks. Grouped together in a still life composition, they create a dynamic dialogue between the objects + with the viewer. I hope that my work brings both joy + calmness to the audience and the space in which they hang."
